World's Most Luxurious Cruise Line Regent Seven Seas Cruises An Unrivaled Experience

As is often the case in the luxury cruise market, every cabin on these ships is a suite with a balcony (something that is also true for two of the line's three older ships). Even the smallest of the accommodations measures 307 square feet, which is not too shabby for a cruise ship. At the highest end is the over-the-top Regent Suite, which has been the talk of the industry since the first one debuted on Seven Seas Explorer.

What to Wear on Seven Seas Grandeur

Besides the bright and open design in ocean-inspired hues of blue and cream, I loved the attention to detail in my suite, down to the field glasses sitting in the cabinet, ready to help you spot wildlife or faraway islands. A pre-cruise hotel package for guests staying in Concierge-level suites and above is especially welcome for travellers from Australia and New Zealand who can look forward to boarding their ship well-rested and ready to enjoy their cruise. With nine dining experiences onboard, including four specialty restaurants, choice for food on Seven Seas Grandeur is plentiful. While Regent Seven Seas announced in 2023 it was adding some 130 dishes to menus across its fleet, we didn’t feel the impact on our short preview sailing of Seven Seas Grandeur.

Apart from Dutch, Caribbean, African, and Spanish flavors, Curacao has over 50 more international influences in its cuisine, guaranteeing you an unforgettable gastronomical exploration. It has a beautiful courtyard and an old church with an embedded cannon wall reminiscent of old wars. The fort is now a UNESCO world heritage site and bears a lot of the island’s history and heritage. Fort Amsterdam is the seat of the island’s government and military operations, and features palatial buildings with interesting architectural designs.

Royal Caribbean has become synonymous with giant, family-friendly cruise ships

With some impressive deals to help you cruise more often, there's never been a better time to set sail with Regent Seven Seas Cruises. For example, the line's latest 'Upgrade Your Horizon' promotion includes up to a double category suite upgrade and 7.5% reduced deposits on hundreds of cruises. Plus, you can save up to 50 per cent on more than 80 destination-immersive sailings around the globe. Strengthening communities the line visits is another focus, with a range of sustainable, socially and environmentally responsible shore tours available for guests. That means skirts or slacks with blouses or sweaters, pant suits or dresses for ladies; slacks and collared shirts for men. Jeans, T-shirts, baseball caps, shorts and sneakers aren't appropriate in any public space after 6 p.m.

Our award-winning fleet delivers style and class, from bow to stern, throughout every region of the world. Many desirable destinations like French Polynesia have set restrictions on cruises, including limits on ship size, amid concerns of pollution and overcrowding. But unless you want to pay for upcharged amenities at every turn, you might be better off spending more upfront to reserve a more premium cruise line — especially if you're interested in cruising for the destinations, and not the ships. They each have more than 20 dining options and dozens of unique activities, a shortlist of which includes ice-skating rinks, ziplines, and shopping mall-like walkways. If a jam-packed schedule of activities and entertainment is a top priority for you, or if you prefer a more pared back style of luxury, Seven Seas Splendor is probably not the ship for you.

This unique market is a water-based place where sellers sell fresh fruits and fish from boats. Bon Bini or welcome to Curacao, where colorful towns, stunning beaches, dramatic coastlines, rich culture, and charming locals all come together. This beautiful diversity ensures you are never short of things to do in Curacao. It's the first show-at-sea I've seen with a waterfall and nine-foot-tall robotic arms, and so far, it's one of my favorites. The ship's riff on Broadway-approved "Wizard of Oz" — 16-piece live orchestra and flying bed included — delighted me, a hater of most musicals. If you're a frequent cruiser — especially with Royal Caribbean — amenities like the mini-golf course and water playground may not seem exciting.

It features a $200,000 Hästens Vividus custom handmade mattress, an in-suite spa retreat with a personal sauna and steam room and 270-degree views from the ship’s bow from a 1,292-square-foot wraparound veranda. Those passengers get their own butler and personal car and driver in every port. It’s part of a 1,600-piece art collection that includes classic black-and-white photos from global destinations adorning the hallways between cabins to the steakhouse’s original Picassos.

But compared to the rest of my mediocre meals on Icon of the Seas — including dinner at a specialty restaurant — my complimentary pork pita wrap from the food hall's Mediterranean-inspired stall was admittedly pretty decent. Icon of the Seas has plenty of live music venues — including rowdy karaoke and dueling pianos bars, if that counts. But if you're a jazz fan or looking for a peaceful nightcap, none of these options will top the live music at Lou's Jazz 'n Blues. For July 1, 2024, was scheduled to start Seven Seas Grandeur's "Faberge Spotlight Voyage" featuring small group workshops and master-class programs, exclusive shore tours, Faberge egg demos, lectures and screenings. The "Faberge Cruise" is a 10-day Mediterranean itinerary (from Civitavecchia-Rome to Monte Carlo Monaco) visiting Salerno, Taormina Sicily, Valletta Malta; Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Spain), Barcelona, Marseille, and Antibes. The ship's art collection groups ~1600 pieces from popular artists and renowned galleries worldwide.

Still, it's in the bigger cabin complexes at the front and back of the Explorer Class ships where things get really impressive. The three ships in the Small Cruise Ship Class are all at least 20 years old. For now, there are just two ships in the Explorer Class, and both have debuted since 2016. But that number is scheduled to rise to three in December with the arrival of Regent's new Seven Seas Grandeur.

Some seven-night Miami-based sailings go for as low as $3,700 per person based on double occupancy. The luxury pedigree that Regent Seven Seas welcomed with Seven Seas Explorer in 2016 continued with sister ship Seven Seas Splendor in 2020, but the third and final sister Seven Seas Grandeur offers up the best of class. Beverages are also included, aside from a few ultra-premium liquors and high-end wines. A perfectly tasty Champagne flows freely, and your favorite call liquor brand likely is included, too.

The luxury cruise line's sixth ship, the Seven Seas Grandeur, set sail for its inaugural season at the end of 2024. The ship was named one of T+L's best places to travel in 2024, and I was on board the ship’s three-night christening sailing for a first look inside the stunning new vessel. Perhaps the most important part of a luxury cruise is your personal space, and Regent's all-suite accommodations guarantee comfort. Suites range from a modest 300 square feet to an over-the-top 4,400 square feet, with elegant decor, marble-accented bathrooms, spacious closets and a separate sitting area in each suite. You can choose from a European king-sized bed or twin bed accommodations, and in every bathroom you'll find L'Occitane soaps and lotions, plush bathrobes and slippers, and a hair dryer.

Of course, if you’d rather take your meals in your beautiful suite, you can also enjoy included room service 24 hours a day. On sailings of 16 nights or more, guests will enjoy two more formal or semi-formal evenings, where men wear tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits (with tie), and women will wear gowns or cocktail dresses. Though participation is option, many dress to the nines and enjoy the opportunity to dress up – and see others in formal attire as well.

If stopping at these ports — or really anywhere outside the Caribbean — is at the top of your vacation wish list, you'll have to prioritize a smaller Royal Caribbean ship or go with higher-end companies like Oceania, Silversea, and Regent Seven Seas. The latest addition, the 1,196-foot-long and 248,663-gross-ton Icon of the Seas, set sail in January, unseating its less than two-year-old predecessor, Wonder of the Seas, as the world's largest cruise liner. According to its current expansion plan, by 2028, about a third of Royal Caribbean's fleet will consist of mega-ships. This beach has a soft white sandy beach with rather inviting sparkling clear turquoise waters. It’s a nice beach getaway, with plenty of parking for your rented car which is the most affordable and common way to get to the beach.

Other popular places to shop include the Sambil Mall which features many food courts and at Salina, one of the primary shopping districts of Willemstad. Other budding shopping scenes in Curacao are found at Breedestraat in Punda and the renaissance mall in Otrabanda. The picturesque pedestrian-only streets bear quaint waterfront shops selling all manner of merchandise, including chichi dolls, Dutch cheeses, fine art, clothing, utensils, and handicrafts. One of the most popular attractions in this part of the city is the Queen Emma bridge that connects these two famous quarters of the island together. Go eat, explore, take pictures at the DUSHI & CURACAO signage, or shop while in Willemstad. In this town, you can explore history by visiting interesting museums and forts, or study intricate architecture on an old synagogue and merchant houses.

There are hotels on the beach to grab a bite at, but for the best drinks head over to the daiquiri beach bar, known for making mean daiquiris. Enjoy one under the thatched palapas found at the beach for shade, or get a relaxing massage. Adjoined to Christoffel National Park is Shete Boka Park, a rugged north coast stretch with dramatic headlands jutting out into the sea forming nice little coves. Shete Boka, meaning  seven inlets, is a natural wonder that has some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Curacao. The beach has a restaurant that serves great BBQ and cool refreshing drinks, and has clean washrooms.
